Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 17, 2026

1. Introduction

Wordcrafte™ is a story-based English learning program. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and process your personal data when you use our products. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Questions about this policy may be sent to support@wordcrafte.com.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: email address, password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider), and optional display name.
  • Sign-in with Google: if you choose Google sign-in, we receive information from Google such as your email address and profile image, subject to your Google account settings and Google's policies.
  • Communications: messages you send us (for example to support@wordcrafte.com).
  • Payment details for purchases: when you buy a course or add-on, payment is processed by our payment provider. We may receive order identifiers, amount, currency, and status. Card, UPI, and similar payment credentials are collected and processed directly by our payment provider and are not stored by Wordcrafte™ on our servers.

Information generated through your use of the Service

  • Learning activity: course enrollments, add-ons, enrollment and expiry dates, and lesson completion / progress records tied to your account.
  • Session and device data: when you sign in, we may record session identifiers, browser name and version, operating system, device type, approximate IP address, and last-active time so you can review and manage active sessions.
  • Usage and diagnostics: pages and features you use and high-level product analytics (via our hosting provider) to understand how the Service performs.
  • Preferences stored on your device: for example theme (light/dark) and certain UI layout preferences in local storage.

Information we derive

  • On account creation, we may generate a default display name from your email address using an automated naming service. You can change your display name in account settings.

We do not ask you to provide sensitive categories of personal data (such as government ID numbers) as part of normal use of the learning app.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Create and manage your account, authenticate you, and keep you signed in.
  • Deliver courses, track progress, and manage enrollments and access periods.
  • Process payments and prevent payment fraud (through our payment provider).
  • Send transactional messages related to your account (for example one-time codes, password reset, and important service notices) via our email delivery setup.
  • Show and manage your active sessions and support "sign out everywhere" and similar security controls.
  • Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service, including aggregate analytics.
  • Comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect Wordcrafte, our users, and the public.
  • Respond to your requests and support inquiries.

We do not currently use your personal information to send marketing newsletters. If that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, obtain appropriate consent.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are needed to run the Service and understand usage:

  • Authentication cookies: maintained by our authentication provider so we can keep your session secure and refreshed.
  • Account snapshot cookie: a short-lived, client-readable cookie that stores a limited non-sensitive snapshot of your signed-in state (such as user id, email, display name, and sign-in providers) to improve the app experience.
  • Analytics: privacy-oriented product analytics provided by our hosting provider.
  • Local storage: preferences such as theme and player UI layout stored in your browser.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may prevent sign-in or other features from working correctly. We do not use advertising pixels or third-party ad trackers in the learning application covered by this policy.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the Service or as required by law:

  • Service providers: we engage trusted third-party companies that process data on our behalf to support core functions, including authentication and account storage, application hosting and delivery, payment processing, transactional email delivery, and automated display name generation at signup. These providers are contractually required to handle your data only as directed and in accordance with applicable law.
  • Sign-in with Google: if you use Google sign-in or link a Google account, relevant information is exchanged with Google subject to your Google account settings and Google's policies.
  • Legal and safety: when we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or security.
  • Business transfers: if Wordcrafte™ is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Course lesson media may be delivered through content delivery or video hosting partners. Those providers may process technical data (such as IP address and device information) necessary to stream content.

Our marketing website (if visited separately from the learning app) may use its own cookies or tools; that site's notices apply to those pages where they differ.

6. International Processing

Wordcrafte™ is built for learners in India and related markets. Our service providers may process and store data in data centers outside your country, including regions where those providers operate infrastructure. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer under their terms and applicable law.

We may restrict access to the Service from certain regions for security, legal, or operational reasons.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account remains active and as needed to provide the Service. Learning progress and enrollment records are kept so your courses and history remain available. Ended sessions and expired enrollments may be archived for security, support, and record-keeping.

We retain information longer when required by law (for example payment or tax records held by or through our payment provider) or when needed for disputes, fraud prevention, or enforcement of our terms.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting support@wordcrafte.com. We will delete or anonymize data we control, except where we must retain it for legal or legitimate operational reasons. Some information held solely by third-party providers (for example payment records) is governed by their own retention practices.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures appropriate to the nature of the data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords via our authentication provider, access controls, and session management tools. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your password and device access confidential and for using account session controls if you believe your account is at risk.

9. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or delete personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:

  • View and update display name and linked sign-in methods in account settings.
  • Review and end active sessions from account settings where available.
  • Request access or deletion by emailing support@wordcrafte.com.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. If you signed in with Google, you can also manage Google permissions in your Google account.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may link to third-party sites (including purchase or marketing pages on wordcrafte.com or social profiles). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Their policies govern any information you provide there.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. For material changes, we may provide additional notice (for example an in-app or email notice) when appropriate.
